At Essendene Lodge School, we base our programmes of study for Year 1 and 2 on the National Curriculum.

To support these objectives, we use the Rising Stars Framework, which helps us plan engaging lessons through a mix of written and practical activities. Our main focus is on English and Mathematics, ensuring that all children develop proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics. possible to foster motivation and promote creativity. We also provide opportunities for children to experience learning beyond the classroom through off-site visits and workshops.

Under the guidance of their class teachers, children study a range of subjects including:

  • Mathematics
  • English
  • Science
  • Geography
  • History
  • Religious Education
  • Personal, Social, Health, and Economic Education

Our school boasts an active school council, with each class electing a representative to participate in decision-making processes.
