Art is a vibrant and essential part of life in Essendene Lodge Prep School. Through a wide range of creative experiences — including painting, drawing, collage, sculpture and craft — children are encouraged to explore their imagination and express themselves with confidence.

Our Art curriculum supports the development of fine motor skills. Creative activities reinforce early mathematical understanding, as pupils explore shape, pattern, symmetry, size and spatial awareness through hands-on projects. Pupils from across the school are regularly entered into external art competitions and have enjoyed many successes both locally and nationally most importantly, Art nurtures curiosity, independence and problem-solving skills. Children are given the freedom to experiment with materials, make creative choices and reflect on their work. This fosters resilience, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for artistic expression.
